What causes headaches?

This is because during times of high stress your body switches from normal breathing with your diaphragm to stress breathing using your shoulders. Taking a few minutes to practice deep breathing using only your belly (known as belly breathing) can significantly reduce the pain of a tension headache.

Applying moderate pressure to the base of the skull using your thumbs is any easy way to relax the muscles that cause tension headaches.
